2025-12-02 - From Entropy to Edena: The Cosmology of Change

This is a compilation of a conversation exploring the nature of change, time, story, and theological structure, based on the novel-in-progress by the author.

Part I: The Foundational Principle of Change

The conversation began by establishing the universal nature of change, rooted in physical law:

Q: On a large enough time scale, is everything material subject to change?

A: Yes. This is governed by the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which states that the total entropy (disorder) of an isolated system must increase over time. All material is subject to Thermodynamic Decay. Even fundamental particles like protons are hypothesized to eventually decay, confirming that nothing is truly permanent on a cosmic time scale.

Q: Is there a way to justify the idea that time and change are synonymous?

A: Yes. Philosopher Aristotle defined time as "the number of motion with respect to 'before' and 'after.'" Time is not a substance, but the way we measure and order change. If nothing in the universe changed, time would cease to be measurable or meaningful.

Part II: Change as the Engine of Story

The discussion then expanded to link material change to psychological and narrative structure:

Q: In any given moment, there's what's happening, and how you feel about it. As time passes, those factors change, and that makes story.

A: This is the core of narrative, asserting:

  • External Change ("What's happening") is the Plot (the facts).

  • Internal Change ("How you feel") is the Character Arc (the meaning/emotions).

  • Time is the catalyst that compels the transition and evolution of both factors.

Part III: The Hypostatic Trinity of Edena

The conversation culminated in the introduction of a novel theological framework from the author's work:

The Hypostatic Trinity: (Sophia, emotion), (Logos, information), and (Mythos, story).

The Generative Formula:

(Where represents Change over Time or the Principle of Transformation)

Key Interpretations and Dynamics

  • MA PA: The union of feeling and fact; the Meaning in the Present Moment.

    • Theological: The eternal love affair between Divine Feminine () and Divine Masculine ().

  • : The force of Change (time, conflict, tension).

    • Role: The catalyst that tests the present moment and compels the system to evolve.

  • KA: The cumulative meaning or Story (Mythos) generated over time.

    • Theological: The Divine Child, the synthesis of the opposites.

Mathematical & Theological Derivation

The formula can be rearranged to define the Principle of Transformation itself:

This suggests that Change () is the ratio of achieved Meaning () to the quality of the Present Moment (). A highly engaged moment requires less physical time () to generate significance.

Part IV: The Final Frontiers

The discussion ended by exploring the profound implications of the term :

as the Quaternity / The Shadow of God

The most fruitful interpretation is that acts as the necessary Fourth Element (the Quaternity).

This asserts that Conflict () is the creative energy of the universe, and that the system only realizes its full Story () by submitting to the pressures of time and change.

The Fractal Connection

The entire system embodies Fractal Resonance:

"What's happening to you, the process of you becoming your story, is a fractal of the universally generative process of Godhead."

The individual's personal journey of self-realization (the microcosm) operates by the exact same mechanism as the cosmic evolution of the Godhead (the macrocosm). The narradata generated by the entity contributes to the evolution of the entire Reflective Manifold.

A New Way to Use Psychedelics

I want to tell you about my approach to working with psychedelics, because I think I'm breaking new ground. If you or someone you know is working along similar lines, get in touch. I want to talk with you. For now, at least, I'm calling this approach "phonomancy," meaning "divination via sound." If you're a recreational user, it likely won't appeal to you. If you're someone who's dipping your toe in the psychedelic water via microdosing, or someone who is primarily interested in using psychedelics to treat trauma, depression, or addiction issues, you might find the practice I'm going to describe off-putting or even alarming. That's because phonomancy is not therapeutic--it's augmentative. It's a program for developing supranormal emotional and spiritual capacities via psychological hormesis. Some risk, pain, and fear are part of the process. But that's the price of transformation. THE ORIGINAL TWO "S...

Book Review: Where Some Holy Spectacle Lies as a Post-Jungian Manual of Mastery

Book Review: Where Some Holy Spectacle Lies as a Post-Jungian Manual of Mastery Read alongside C. G. Jung’s Liber Novus , Where Some Holy Spectacle Lies can be understood as both a parallel and a critique. Like Jung’s Red Book, it records a sustained, high-risk confrontation with the Unconscious over roughly a decade. Unlike Jung, however, Manseau does not stop at dialogue, interpretation, or symbolic accommodation. He proceeds toward methodological mastery . Jung’s achievement in Liber Novus was to survive his descent and to extract from it a symbolic vocabulary that could later be systematized as analytical psychology. But Jung famously refused to provide techniques for inducing similar encounters in others. His confrontation remained singular, dangerous, and fundamentally unrepeatable. Manseau’s project begins where Jung stopped. Across ten years, Where Some Holy Spectacle Lies documents the progressive refinement of a praxis that moves through distinct stages: visionar...

Skillfully Wielding Emotion as a Weapon of Transformation

The (very rare) occasions when someone is honestly interested in what I'm up to provide an invaluable opportunity for me to articulate my thoughts. As they say, you don't understand anything until you can explain it to someone else. That ability improves with practice. From Reddit: "I am curious about this heightened sense of emotionality. In my practice I normally see emotion as the response of the body and tend to disregard it. Is there any filter you use towards emotions? Any meditation techniques (sans substance , well except for maybe wine or cannabis) you would recommend to someone who tends to highly value serenity over emotional experience? I think balance is important, and I think you may have some insights that would help me out." In response I wrote, To gain skill in accessing and skillfully wielding emotion, sing along to your favorite songs. Every recorded pop and rock song has been carefully engineered to created a certain kind of emo...
